Instances regarding samp desync
Hello players, recently ISPS and internets have been lagging a lot globally, this causes a lot of issues with packetloss and high lags in SAMP for certain players.
Due to this, A lot of players now experience desync frequently, this can lead to very unfair situations which can feel extremely frustrating to go against, we feel that some players aren't educated on this and continue playing normally when they are desynced.
What is desync?
Desync is when data stops being sent from the server (the chat still works). This is caused by high packetloss and bad internet. When desynced, /en, /ex makes you bugged and does nothing (puts you in a virtual world when you come back), Most functions from the server do not work properly, however you keep sending data to the server.
How do I know if im desynced?
The best way is to check the ingame clock at the top right, if it is frozen at a time and not moving then you are desynced.
What should I do if I'm desynced?
Immediately stop what you are doing (if you have a dm job/are dming), If you are almost done with a route for example you can complete it, then inform an admin with /@. If you want to relog yourself, make sure you have no contracts/assignments or you arent getting shot at so that you are safe to do so.
Desync has lead to many false reports because players do not even appear for desynced players, causing those players that shoot the desynced player to basically do nothing to him. It can also lead to them looking like speedhacking players.
Because of the unfair situations that rise from this, there are now rules to prevent players from dming and doing certain things while they are desynced. If you are desynced and continue playing without informing admins, this will now be counted as bug abuse and you can get punished for this.
The punishments will be given based on this protocol:
1st instance: Kick and Warn
2nd instance: Kick and 300s Jail
3rd instance: Kick and 600s Jail
4th instance: Kick and DMban for 3 days
5th instance: Temp ban
Chances of desync can be drastically reduced by:
Using a wired connection
Getting a better internet
Closing all downloads/programs that use internet
